Closing Ceremony CACCJ to-7, From Substantive Until Election Harmonization Angklung

So pronounced by the Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Moh. Mahfud MD in his speech at the closing ceremony of the Conference of the 7th Asian Constitutional Court Judges (CACCJ), Wednesday (14 / 7) night, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Ballroom.

Furthermore, in his speech, he emphasized, in the formation and regulation of the electoral system should not only grounded in the context of mere ceremonial and procedural, but must be balanced with the election of upholding democratic values are more substantial.

"Therefore, the challenges of the future lies in formulating the mechanism for effective enforcement of electoral law, which can project a problem that will occur in the future. It is expected that the mechanisms that are designed will not be restricted to prioritize the rule of law only, but more than that, the election shall create a more substantive. In other words, we can not enforce the electoral law based on procedural only, "he explained.

The Secretary General of the Court, Janedjri M. Gaffar, disclose in its report, the conference was attended by 65 participants from 26 countries (not only from the Asia-red) and two international organizations, as well as a spotter at least 85 people from Indonesia who came from several state agencies and academia. Therefore, to achieve maximum results from this conference, all materials and the whole process of discussion that occurred during the event will be documented and the results will be submitted to each participant.

"We intend to compile the entire process and presentation of papers from the speakers and panelists in the form of conference proceedings, which, God willing, will be presented on Thursday (15 / 7). We hope all parties, especially the Constitutional Court and similar institutions from countries that participate in this conference can use the results of this conference as an input to development goals and develop a constitutional democracy and the rule of law in each country, "he said.

After about three days of discussions and fatigue hit, at the closing ceremony the participants not only were treated with traditional art performances, but also invited to play angklung together.
